Dharmapuri District Employment Office functioning under Department of Employment and Training, which has been situated in ITI Campus, Kadagathur.

List of Activities

1. Registering the qualifications of unemployed Youths.
2. Sponsoring the candidates against the notified vacancies.
3. Conducting Coaching Classes for all Competitive Examinations.
4. A Study Circle Unit is functioning with more than 4000 books.
5. Unemployment Assistance.
6. Conducting Micro Job fairs on 2^nd Fridays of every month and Differently abled job fairs on 3^rd Fridays of every month.
7. Conducting Mega Job Mela.
8. Giving Various Skill Training courses
9. Registration for Overseas Man Power Corporation for Foreign Employment.

Registration and Renewal activities :

Main activities like Registration, renewal and Additional qualification, Priority Registration are done through on line from 2010 onwards. The website address is https://tnvelaivaaippu.gov.in
Totally 1,84,513 Candidates has been Registered in Dharmapuri Employment Office. Among this Live Register 88,185 Candidates are women and 2140 are Differently abled candidates.

Sponsoring Activities :

Candidates has been sponsored according to the Notification Received by the employers in the ratio of 1:5 based on Age, Qualification, Rotation, Priority and Seniority. If any, vacancies notified by the Employers shall be filled by issuing advertisement in at least two Daily Newspapers apart from the list received from Employment Office, according to the Go.Ms.No.44 Labour and Employment Department. Dated. 11.3.2015.

Study Circle :

In order to enhance and help the youth to face various competitive examinations, study circle units were established. Candidates are enrolled as members of Study Circle. In Dharmapuri Employment Office, a room is identified for this purpose with necessary furniture and with more than 4000 books. The Study Circles conducting coaching classes for various competitive examinations and providing books, study materials and weekly / monthly magazines for the aspirants. Rs.3,12,500/- per Annum is allotted for this purpose. Through this study circle unit more than 1000 candidates were benefited.

Unemployment Assistance Scheme for Unemployed Youth :

To mitigate the hardships faced by the Unemployed youth, who are jobless for many years, the Unemployment assistance scheme was announced in G.O.Ms.No.72,Labourand Employment(R2) Department. Dated: 25.08.2006..As per G.O.Ms.no19 Labour and Employment(R2) Dept. Dt 20-02-2017, the unemployment assistance amount was enhanced. The assistance will be given through ECS to the beneficiaries bank account for a continuous period of three years or till the beneficiary gets a job, whichever is earlier.

Unemployment Assistance for Differently Abled :

The Unemployment assistance is given to differently abled persons since 1980. As per G. No 21 (Ma.Thi.Na-3) dated 23.03.2015, the assistance amount has been enhanced for differently abled persons. The Unemployment Assistance will be paid through ECS to the beneficiaries bank account for a maximum period of Ten Years or till the beneficiary gets a job. whichever is earlier.

Private Placement :

The Employment Office is taking several initiatives for the benefit of Unemployed Youth in getting Private Sector placement by organizing Job Fairs on campus and off campus. Every second Friday of the month Private Sector Placement programmes are organised at Employment Office. 4 Mega Job Fairs were conducted. In these Job Fairs, 915 Employers were participated. Totally, 72,982 job seekers participated and among them 11,706 persons got placements. Moreover, 152 Differently Abled persons were placed.

Tamil Nadi Skill Development Corporation :

Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation was formed with a vision to transform the state into skill hub by skilling the youth and enhance their employability to match the expectations of the Industry. Since 2013 it is functioning as a Corporation under the Labour and Employment Department. TNSDC has been declared as the State Nodal Agency for Skill Development by the government. Through, the Skill Development Corporation various Skill Training Courses like Beautician, Tailoring, Retail Sales Associate has been provided. website address: www.tnskill.tn.gov.in

Overseas Man Power Corporation :

The Overseas Manpower Corporation Limited (OMC) was thus incorporated in 1978. The chief objective being promoting employment of Indian manpower in foreign countries. Registration for OMCL are also done in Employment Office. (www.omcmanpower.com).
